Today we went down to the bee hives at Brook Pointe to check on the colony — and start preparing for honey production.
We: • Took the lid off • Removed the inner cover • Pulled the queen excluder • Checked brood frames • Looked for fresh larvae
And then… We found her. Dorothy the Queen.
You can immediately tell because: • She’s larger than the others • Her abdomen is longer • The worker bees move around her • Wherever she walks, the crowd follows
We also saw tons of capped brood — meaning lots of baby bees ready to hatch. Beekeeping never gets old. Every hive check feels like discovery.
