This is our first large compost pile. Called Compost Pile A. This is where we put all our cardboard, breakfast egg shells, coffee grounds, shredded paper and much much more! This is almost one year of composting. We estimate there is close to 1000 cardboard boxes, if not more, and 5000 egg shells, hundreds and hundreds of pounds of grass clippings and 100 compost bags of shredded paper.
All the bags we use are made of cornstarch.
We put up the green fence to keep things from flying away.
After so much research into where most of our recycling was going to the landfill, we decided to take recycling into our own hands and keep as much out of the landfill as possible.
When our entire composting project is finished we will have about 5 large piles.
